Navigating Emotional Chaos Using Self-Regulation Skills

Description:

Join us as we explore how to navigate emotional chaos using the Five Steps of Self-Regulation from Dr. Becky Baily’s book “Managing Emotional Mayhem.” This course will offer tools to assist adults in calming their internal chaos first so that they may effectively manage conflicts and emotional upsets of children. Ultimately, this will help children to develop healthy self-regulation skills and lifelong success.

High Performing Leaders: From the Inside Out

Description:

This training will provide current and future early childhood education center leaders the opportunity to explore the power of reflection and self-awareness, as it relates to the role of being a leader. Students will self-analyze their values, beliefs, styles and strengths using assessments, activities and group collaboration. They also will create actionable plans to enable change while avoiding burnout.

Teaching Pre-Kindergarten Using the New Standards

Date and Time: September 9 – October 28, from 6:30 – 9 p.m.
Face-to-Face Sessions: Mondays, September 9 & 23, and October 7 & 28

Description: A successful pre-kindergarten program begins with you!

This new 20-hour course provides knowledge and skills for pre-kindergarten teachers to create an academic learning environment where children can thrive.

Using the new Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards for age 4, you will learn to plan intentional learning opportunities for children to have successful school experiences as you prepare them for kindergarten.

One of the online components is offered through the Florida Department of Children and Families website. Students are responsible for registration, and the $10.00 fee for the Implementing the Florida Standards in Preschool Classrooms: 3 Years Old to Kindergarten (VSP) online course.

Preschool: Active Learning Environments

Description: This training will provide early childhood educators with developmentally appropriate activities and tools for creating an active learning environment where children thrive. Participants will learn interaction strategies to support children’s learning while engaging in purposeful play opportunities.
