Interview with SEEK Scholarship Recipient and Graduate – Liliana Quispe

By Laura McCadden

Laura: Lili, congratulations on your recent completion of the Associate in Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Palm Beach State College. Tell your fellow students how you were so successful and to what you attribute your success.

Lili: I really attribute my success to the support I was given by my husband, my kids, my career advisor Evelyn Gomez, my friends, my tutor Laura McCadden, my great professors like Grace Kolbe, and my sister in New Jersey. I am very proud of myself. I feel confident and strong now.

Laura: How did the SEEK Scholarship help you to accomplish your goal?

Lili: The scholarship paid for my classes and my books. I would have not been able to pay for the classes on my own, so I am so grateful and appreciative to SEEK. The tutoring I also received was at no cost to me.

Laura: Who supported you the most while you were attending classes?

Lili: My family was a great support to me. My husband would stay up with me no matter what time I finished my homework. He is my rock!

Laura: What are your future plans now that you have graduated?

Lili: I want to continue to move forward to get my bachelor’s degree no matter what it takes. I know I can count on the great people at the Institute of Excellence to help me.

Laura: What advice do you have for your fellow early childhood education students?

Lili: Never give up – never give up your dream!

Laura: Lili, who is the person you most admire?

Lili: My older sister Alicea is the person I most admire. She encourages me every day, and we talk on the phone every day. She lives in New Jersey, and she told me to go to school and to follow my dreams. Alicea is my hero!
