Carroll accepted into Leadership Palm Beach County Engage program

Janell Carroll, marketing manager at the IEECE and adjunct professor in PBSC’s Bachelor of Applied Science in Supervision and Management program, is one of 56 professionals accepted into the Leadership Palm Beach County 2019-20 Leadership Engage program. LPBC’s Leadership Engage is a highly competitive 10-month program that offers participants a powerful new network and a transformative learning experience with the intent to better Palm Beach County.

Participants, who come from diverse industries and backgrounds, will gain a deeper understanding of their own leadership styles as well as understand the ways in which they can make significant improvements in the community.

Carroll, a current Ph.D. student in Florida Atlantic University’s Department of Educational Leadership and Research Methodology, says “Establishing relationships and collaborating with other local leaders will help me to further develop and fine tune my leadership skills and create alliances to be an effective change agent in Palm Beach County. Simultaneously, I will be able to communicate and model the College’s values of being transformational, conscientious and optimistic, while reaffirming dynamic, seamless partnerships.”

The class members were selected for their leadership and service in their professional and civic lives. They will meet as a group for one full day each month, from September to May, and travel on a bus to all areas of the county, exploring program topics such as agriculture, education, public safety and health care. They will also break up into smaller groups to do community engagement projects, benefiting local nonprofits and aimed at tackling challenges facing the region.

Leadership Engage is the flagship program for LPBC. It unites leaders to improve Palm Beach County and deepens their civic commitment and awareness of diverse issues and industries.
