Knapp Retires from Early Childhood Education

Congratulations to Debby Knapp on her recent retirement from the School District of Palm Beach County.

For more than 30 years, Knapp has served as a kindergarten teacher, coach and most recently, technical assistance specialist, supporting early childhood education centers that are members of the Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County Strong Minds Network.

“Her dedication and expertise were always well received by the programs she served. She touched a lot of lives and will be missed by the department and the early childhood community,” said Sandra Tucker, program planner for the department of early childhood education at the School District of Palm Beach County.

In addition to her career experience at the District, Knapp served as an adjunct instructor at the College’s Institute of Excellence from 2009 to 2018.

“Her students thoroughly enjoyed her classes and found her experiences in the early childhood programs extremely valuable. She connected coursework to teachers’ everyday classroom experiences by supporting best practices in teaching and learning for young children. The Institute was fortunate to have her as a colleague and friend. She will be missed,” said Darcy Russo, director of training and development at the Institute.
