AA Degree Transfer to State Universities

The Associate in Arts degree offers many opportunities to transfer to both public and private colleges and universities to complete your Bachelor’s degree and pursue a higher education. Palm Beach State also has a growing number of transfer agreements that allow you to complete your Bachelor’s degree completely on-line.

Upon the award of an Associate in Arts degree from Palm Beach State College, a student is guaranteed admission to one of the 12 state university system institutions. State college Associate in Arts graduates receive priority for admission to a state university over out-of-state students.  However, state college A.A. graduates are not guaranteed transfer into the college or university of their choice.

To facilitate your acceptance in your desired program of study at a state university system institution, it is vital that you carefully plan your coursework while at Palm Beach State.

Your 60 hours of credits for the AA degree includes 36 hours of general education and 24 credits of common prerequisite courses that prepare you for transfer. Please consult with a College advisor or use the Florida Virtual Campus system to help plan your program of study at Palm Beach State. (Palm Beach State has posted advising sheets from Florida Virtual Campus available.)

This will ensure your smooth transfer to a state university system school. In addition to statewide articulation of the AA, Palm Beach State also has transfer agreements for several programs of study.
