Iva Bergeron has 34 plus years of higher education experience related to academic program leadership and quality improvement of student learning. Iva has served in many roles at the various colleges she was employed, such as Program Director, Assistant to the President and Dean of Planning, Research, and Institutional Effectiveness.
As the Director of Academic Assessment at Palm Beach State College, Lake Worth Campus, Iva is responsible for all quality Learning improvement activities that assist our students and faculty in providing evidence of success in the classroom and at the program level. She is available to assist all faculty, deans, and associate deans in assuring we are providing an exemplary academic experience for our students to be successful.
Angel Camilo

As Business Intelligence Developer, Angel Camilo works collaboratively to design, develop, and implement Business Intelligence strategies, tools, and software across the institution. He is also responsible for supporting the effective use of data analytics strategies across the organization to facilitate data informed decision-making.
Camilo joined PBSC in November 2001 and has worked within the Financial Aid department as Financial Aid Advisor, VA Certification Officer, Interim Financial Aid Manager and Campus Registrar.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an MBA degree in Business Intelligence Analytics from Nova Southeastern University.
Jayme Gough Cushing

As Quality Improvement Coordinator, Jayme Gough Cushing works with PBSC’s operational departments to improve service outcomes, standardize processes, and implement continuous improvement projects. She supports College strategic planning initiatives and promotes the expanded educational attainment for Hispanic and low-income students through her work with the Panther Strong Title V Grant.
Jayme Gough Cushing has a Master’s degree in Reading Education, a Bachelor’s in Journalism and Communications, and a Bachelor’s in English, all from the University of Florida. Her prior work experience involved teaching in K-12 public schools and writing for community newspapers.
Patricia Hoyle

As Report Writer, Patricia Hoyle is responsible for creating, analyzing, and maintaining reports and dashboards to support department goals. She partners with colleagues and leaders to understand their reporting needs and assists in the development of reporting processes and administration in our ERP system.
Patricia joined PBSC in January 2002 under the department of Student Services as an Academic Advisor as well as a Business Analyst II focusing on implementing new technology, data analysis and training. Patricia has also been an SLS1501 Adjunct instructor since 2013. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Florida Atlantic University, and an M.Ed. in Instructional Technology from the University of South Florida.

As Project Reports Coordinator, Linda Madera is responsible for creation, management and certification of the College Databases to the State of Florida Department of Education and the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS). She is also responsible for FTE reporting as well as various other state and federal reports.
Linda joined PBSC in November 2009 as the Foundation department’s Research Coordinator. Following that, she was promoted to Business Analyst in the IT department. She is a graduate of Palm Beach State College, has a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies: Social Sciences, a minor in Sociology and a certificate in Ethnic Studies from Florida Atlantic University. Linda also holds a MS in Information Technology-Cybersecurity from Florida Institute of Technology.
Ayleen Martinez

Ayleen Martinez is the Associate Administrative Assistant to David Weber and the Institutional Research and Effectiveness (IRE) team.
She has worked as a business education teacher, faculty trainer, tutoring instructor (Spanish), and instructional designer for over 30 years. In addition, Ayleen holds four certifications, including Microsoft Office User Specialist, Educational Television, Distance Learning Education (online course), and Christian Counseling. She started at PBSC in 2016, as an Adjunct Instructor for Microsoft Office and Parenting Education courses for the Department of Corporate and Continuing Education in both languages (English and Spanish). Ayleen worked as an Administrative Assistant II for the same department.
She has a bachelor's degree in Secretarial Sciences from the Universidad Central de Bayamón, PR, a master's degree in Business Education from the Interamerican University, Cupey, PR. Licensed Minister of the Evangelical Churches of God, Diploma/Certified License in Christian Counseling, Certificate in Advanced Studies in Personality Psychology and second Masters in Theology and Pastoral Studies all from Hossana Bible Institute, Alabama, USA. Also, a Doctor of Theology in Pastoral Ministry from Ark Theology University, New Jersey , USA.
Jeff Nowak

Jeff Nowak joined Palm Beach State in 1996 as a research associate, following several years in the marketing research industry.
Today, he is responsible for managing many of IRE’s college-wide research projects, including the Community College Survey of Student Engagement and the Chronicle of Higher Education’s “Great Colleges to Work for,” as well as coordinating and maintaining the Student Assessment of Courses and Faculty, tracking of strategic planning and performance funding outcomes, and working with faculty and staff at all levels on their data and research needs.
Joan Roberts

Joan Roberts has been at Palm Beach State College since 2010 and worked on two of the College’s health science grants as an advisor and then data analyst before joining IRE. She currently provides broad support for the department including work on research, data, assessment, strategic planning and accreditation. Her experience prior to PBSC includes various positions with government, health and insurance organizations in New York and Pennsylvania. She has a BS in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Duke University.
Dave Weber

Dave Weber serves as the Executive Director for the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness. Specific responsibilities include Strategic and Integrated Planning, the Institutional Review Board (IRB), and oversight of all activities of the office.
Besides planning, he has expertise in continuous improvement having served as Chief Judge and examiner for the Performance Excellence Award in Minnesota and senior evaluator for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. Weber served as Executive Director for Planning and Effectiveness at Lake Sumter State College in Clermont/Leesburg, Florida and as Chief of Strategic Operation and Student Affairs at Rochester Community can Technical College in Minnesota.
