Associate in Arts (A.A.)
The Associate in Arts transfer degree equals the first two years of a bachelor’s degree. By earning your A.A. degree at PBSC, you are guaranteed admission to one of Florida's public universities to complete your bachelor’s degree. You also may transfer to certain private institutions or PBSC bachelor's programs. Our A.A. degree advising track will help guide you in selecting general education and elective courses that fit your desired upper-division major and the requirements of your chosen transfer school. Always work with your PBSC academic advisor in making your final choices.

At PBSC, you can choose from many career pathways. Each certificate and degree is a stepping-stone, either to the job market or to the next level in your education.
Degrees:
- AS: Associate in Science degrees prepare you for skilled employment or transfer to PBSC’s bachelor's programs and possibly other institutions.
Certificates:
- CCC: College Credit Certificates give you marketable skills as well as college credits that can transfer to an associate degree.
Architecture
Overview
The Architecture Design and Construction Technology A.S. degree program helps to prepare students to further their education in architecture and/or construction.
Students gain the technical knowledge and skills in drafting, design and construction technology needed to design and build in the next generation of healthy, energy efficient houses and buildings based on sustainable design strategies, applied building science principles, and mainstream green building practices. The program is also designed for employees in these fields who seek further education and career advancement.
Architecture Design and Construction Technology - Associate in Science (A.S.)
The Architecture Design and Construction Technology A.S. degree provides the foundation necessary for employment in a variety of industries, including architecture, construction, and interior or landscape design.
Upon completion of this program, you may seek employment in an entry-level position with a broad base of skills in architectural design and construction, including as a computer-aided design (CAD) draftsperson or 3D visualizer/renderer. With experience, graduates may become residential and small commercial designers, building plan examiners, and residential and building contractors. There will be expanded employment opportunities due to Florida’s projected growth and architectural technologist needs.
Film

The certificate is valuable to the student who plans to enter the field, as well as the student who is already working in the industry and wishes to update her or his skills.
Cinematography - College Credit Certificate (CCC)
A CCC awards college credit and delivers the technical core of the A.S. degree in that area of study. Completing a CCC gives you an immediate credential for skilled employment, allowing you to start or advance a career.
Credits earned in these programs will transfer directly into the Associate in Science (A.S.) degree in Motion Picture Production.
Overview
Develop the 3-D animation skills needed to get your foot in the door of film, television or advertising companies. Using the leading industry software – Autodesk’s Maya® and 3ds Max® – students experience the entire animation process, including modeling, simulation, visual effects, rendering and compositing scenes.
Digital Animation - College Credit Certificate (CCC)
A CCC awards college credit and delivers the technical core of the A.S. degree in that area of study. Completing a CCC gives you an immediate credential for skilled employment, allowing you to start or advance a career.
This certificate program provides an introduction to professional training in digital animation production for students interested in a career in the film and entertainment industry. In this program, students work alongside professionals using cutting edge equipment and technologies, while learning how to put together an animation project from the ground up.
Courses from this program may transfer into Palm Beach State's Associate in Science Motion Picture Production Technology: Digital Animation Concentration.
Overview
Produce or direct stage, television, radio, video, or film productions for entertainment, information, or instruction. Directors and producers are responsible for creative decisions, such as interpretation of script, choice of actors, set design, sound, special effects, and choreography
Directing & Producing - College Credit Certificate (CCC)
The certificate is valuable to the student who plans to enter the field, as well as the student who is already working in the industry and wishes to update her or his skills.
Credits earned in these programs will transfer directly into the Associate in Science (A.S.) degree in Motion Picture Production Technology: Production Concentration.
Overview
Gain marketable skills in film and sound editing as well as film production. Students add to their résumés by serving in production crew positions on student film projects.
Operate television, video, or motion picture camera to record images or scenes for various purposes, such as TV broadcasts, advertising, video production, or motion pictures.
Motion Picture Post-Production Technology - College Credit Certificate (CCC)
The certificate is valuable to the student who plans to enter the field, as well as the student who is already working in the industry and wishes to update her or his skills.
Credits earned in this program will transfer directly into the Motion Picture Production Technology: Production Concentration Associate in Science (A.S.) degree.

When you study Motion Picture Production Technology at PBSC, you don’t just learn
from a book. You’ll receive hands-on training from award-winning professionals, using

technology for film, animation and sound production.
Hands-on courses encompass directing, screenwriting and cinematography, in addition to concentration area subjects like digital story development, studio recording or film producing. Student projects and internship opportunities in the local/regional film industry offer an extensive amount of real-world experience and often lead to employment.
Motion Picture Production Technology - Associate in Science (A.S.)
Career-oriented A.S. degree programs prepare you for immediate entry into the workforce or graduates may pursue the Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Supervision and Management at PBSC. Transfer to certain bachelor's degree programs at other colleges and universities is possible as well.
This degree program provides professional training in film, digital animation, and recording arts production for students interested in a career in the film and entertainment industry. The degree program prepares the student to work in a technical capacity in most key crew areas. In this program, students work alongside professionals using cutting edge equipment and technologies, while learning how to put together a film, animation or recording project from the ground up.

Graphic Design
Overview
Effective graphic design requires more than a good eye. The best graphic designers create visual solutions that persuade and inspire. At Palm Beach State, you’ll learn how to communicate ideas using color, typography, illustration, photography, animation and video—under the guidance of expert faculty, learning in the most current and complete Apple-based education facility in the area.
Graphic Design Technology - Associate in Science (A.S.)
Career-oriented A.S. degree programs prepare you for immediate entry into the workforce. Graduates may pursue the Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Supervision and Management at PBSC. Transfer to certain bachelor's degree programs at other colleges and universities is possible as well. In addition, the Graphic Design program is approved for transfer to Florida Atlantic University’s B.F.A. Graphic Design program.
With a focus on mastering design fundamentals, this degree also gives students the
opportunity to specialize in print, web or multimedia design. You’ll have individual
access to the latest
design software every step of the way and will complete a portfolio, crucial for employment.
Local advertising art directors, marketing specialists and designers are regular guest
speakers,
and a public exhibition of student work is held every year.
Graphic Design Support - College Credit Certificate (CCC)
This College Credit Certificate is designed to prepare the student to enter the graphic design field, especially as it relates to the printing industry. Each student will develop a portfolio, crucial for employment, while enrolled in the program. Course content includes design fundamentals, Macintosh computer applications, typography, photography and color design.
Credits earned in this certificate program will transfer directly into Palm Beach State's Associate in Science degree in Graphic Design Technology.
In addition, Graphic Design Associate in Arts degree students are encouraged to add this certificate as a program objective (Program Code 6290), as this A.A. pathway includes the courses in this certificate program. By adding the program objective, students may earn this CCC as an extra credential.

This program introduces introduces the student to multimedia technology and is valuable to the student who plans to enter this field, as well as the student who is already working in the industry and wishes to update his or her skills.
Create special effects, animation, or other visual images using film, video, computers, or other electronic tools and media for use in products or creations, such as computer games, movies, music videos, and commercials.
Graphic Design Technology: Multimedia Arts - College Credit Certificate (CCC)
A CCC awards college credit and delivers the technical core of the A.S. degree in that area of study. Completing a CCC gives you an immediate credential for skilled employment, allowing you to start or advance a career.
Credits earned in this certificate program will transfer directly into Palm Beach State's Associate in Science degree in Graphic Design Technology.
Overview
This program introduces the student to web design and the software associated with it and is valuable to the student who plans to enter this field, as well as the student who is already working in the industry and wishes to update his or her skills.
Create websites using the latest software and techniques. In addition to learning web graphics, page layout and interactivity, students also explore the issues faced in planning and maintaining websites.

Interior Design
Overview
The Interior Design Technology Program provides a broad spectrum of knowledge and skills for the planning and design of interior environments that promote and enhance the human experience.
The goal of the program is to develop an awareness of space and designing environments in relation to cultural, social, ecological, and economic conditions to generate functional and creative solutions. The program educates students to be interior designers who make valuable contributions to their profession, communicate effectively, and make a positive impact on society.
Interior Design Technology - Associate in Science (A.S.)
Career-oriented A.S. degree programs prepare you for immediate entry into the workforce. Transfer to certain bachelor's degree programs at other colleges and universities is possible as well. Courses from this program may transfer into Palm Beach State's Bachelor of Applied Science program in Supervision and Management.
The program prepares graduates for entry-level positions in residential and commercial design, product showrooms and home building. After completion of the program, two to three years of work experience under an NCIDQ Certified Interior Designer, State/Provincial Licensed/Registered/Certified Interior Designer in the US or Canada, or State/Provincial Licensed/Registered Architect in the US or Canada who provides interior design services to sit for the National Council for Interior Design Qualification Examination.
Professional Exam
The NCIDQ Exam is administered by the Council for Interior Design Qualification (CIDQ). CIDQ is comprised of regulatory boards from across the United States and Canada. The strenuous requirements of the NCIDQ Exam give clients and employers added confidence in the caliber of work from NCIDQ-Certified designers. NCIDQ Certification meets legal and regulatory standards for the interior design profession as established by more than half of the states across the United States and provinces in Canada.
