Transient Students

Enrolled at another Florida College/University?

Disclosure

Transient students do not intend to transfer to or seek either a degree or certificate at Palm Beach State College (PBSC). If you are currently enrolled at another Florida postsecondary institution and have permission from that institution to take one or more classes at Palm Beach State College, you are a transient student.

Please note that some PBSC courses may have prerequisites or co-requisites, including labs.

As a transient student, you accept full responsibility for possessing or acquiring, at the time of enrollment, the knowledge and/or skills that these pre- and co-requisites provide.

Transient students are responsible for requesting that an official transcript be sent to their home institution after completion of coursework at PBSC. There will be a fee assessed for that transcript.

How to Apply to become a Transient Student at PBSC

Are you a Florida Public Colleges or Universities Student?

Transient students should be advised by their home institution regarding which courses to take at Palm Beach State and determine if the student has satisfied the necessary course prerequisites.

Complete and submit an electronic transient form through FloridaShines (FloridaShines.org). The transient form will also serve as the application for admission to Palm Beach State (do not submit a PBSC application for admission).

Are you an Out of State OR Private Florida Colleges & Universities Student?

Submit a transient student form or an official Letter of Good Standing from your home institution. The form or letter must indicate: (1) the student is in good academic standing and (2) the course(s) in which the student is eligible to enroll at Palm Beach State.

Do I have to verify residency?

Transient students from Florida public colleges and universities will not need to verify residency as their home institution provides the information. However, transients from out of state and private colleges and universities will be required to verify Florida Residency.

Do I have to pay an application fee?

Transients within the Florida public college and university system will not be required to pay an application fee.

Transients outside the Florida public system will complete the College's online application and charged the application fee.
