IEECE's ESOL Students Complete Their Three Semester Study of the English Language
By Laura McCadden
In June, Cohort III ESOL students finished their final HEO class in the Institute’s English Language Learning Program.
For three semesters, students studied to improve their English proficiency and to prepare for the Level of English Proficiency (LOEP) test.
The students braved stormy nights and flooding on many occasions this summer to attend their final HEO English course.
Once students take the LOEP, they are advised by Career Advisor Myriam Torres on next academic steps.
This spring, after completing tutoring sessions with Laura McCadden, Student Success Manager, students Carmen Murillo and Jorgelina Cuello took the LOEP test and placed into the College English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program.
Now, they are on their way to working on their AS degree in Early Childhood Education.
Congratulations to Carmen, Jorgelina and all of the ESOL cohort students for their continued determination, commitment, and hard work!
