The Innovation Lab is equipped with a MakerBot Replicator+. Using a 3D printer for education will stimulate curiosity and inspire additional learning. It can help enhance your creativity and knowledge of 3D modeling. Also, it's a ton of fun to use! Before you use the printer in the Innovation Lab, there are a few steps you need to take.
- Find a project that uses 3D printing in a creative and interesting way.
- Submit the form below to get approval to use the 3D printer.
- Download or create a 3D model to print.
- If you want to create a 3D model from scratch check out TinkerCAD
- If you are interested in finding models or just looking for inspiration take a look at Thingiverse
- Download and install MakerBot Software. (This software will take your 3D model and formats it as a file that the machine can use to print.)
- Send this file to the lab technician along with a description of your project and what course is the project attached to.
- An appointment will be set up for you to use the 3D printer.
