In addition to teaching at Palm Beach State College, I am a licensed psychologist in the state of Florida where I am also credentialed as a qualified supervisor for mental health counselors. My full-time place of employment is within a secure forensic hospital where I primarily assess criminal defendants regarding issues related to competency to proceed and violence risk. Both my pre-doctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship specialized in forensic psychology, and I am a Florida forensic examiner for both adults and juveniles.
Additionally, I conduct guardianship evaluations for the ninth circuit in the state of Florida. As a professor, I adhere to the practitioner-scholar model. In my clinical work, I assist in the supervision and development of postdoctoral psychology residents as well as doctoral students in clinical psychology. I am firmly committed to providing quality training to those in the mental health and human service professions.
I completed my Bachelor of Science at Missouri State University in 2007 and my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology in 2010. I most recently completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the School of Professional Psychology at Forest Institute in Springfield, Missouri in 2014.
