What the IEECE at Palm Beach State College Can Do For You!
By K. Lee Tirpak
Director of Achievement Centers for Children & Families, Delray Beach
The Institute of Excellence in Early Care and Education (IEECE) offers an array of services for Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County’s Strong Minds early learning programs.
Recently, the Institute's career advisors presented an overview of the services available to the staff at the Achievement Centers for Children & Families (ACCF) in Delray Beach.
The ACCF team members are required to develop Individual Professional Development Plans, outlining their path to achieve an associate of arts, an associate of science in early childhood, the early childhood certificate or, if the member already has a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, a plan to maintain knowledge of current research and best practices.
The Institute's team met individually with the majority of the ACCF team to discuss
individual goals, setting them on the path for SEEK scholarships, ACHIEVE Salary Supplement
awards, and a better understanding of the career advisors’ role in supporting their
education pathway.
As early childhood educators and professionals, it is important to continue learning and honing skills to serve young children and their families.
The IEECE provides the opportunity for both new and experienced early childhood educators to continue their education, gain new knowledge to enhance their daily practices, and receive a financial incentive to do so.
The Institute's team encouraged and offered support to the ACCF staff with enthusiasm. A big thank you to the IEECE team for coming to visit and encouraging the ACCF Team to be all they can be!
