3 New STEAM Labs in Palm Beach County

By Kat Lai

After opening the first STEAM Labs for children to explore at Village Academy in Delray Beach and Sunland Park Academy in Fort Lauderdale, the IE’s STEAM program has turned to opening more labs at the schools participating in the current program cohort.

Children at Northmore Academy in West Palm Beach, the Achievement Centers for Children and Families in Delray Beach, and the YWCA in West Palm Beach will be exploring open-ended, fun, engaging STEAM materials very soon!

It will be like having a children’s museum right in their own school.

Funding from PNC Grow Up Great, the Mayor’s Office of West Palm Beach and the Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County have made these exciting spaces possible.

The STEAM Project team is working closely with the schools to ensure that the creativity and innovation of the directors and teachers at these sites will make the spaces phenomenal places for children to investigate, create, innovate, and learn. We are incredibly excited to see what these sites invent!
