ACUE Certificate in Effective Online Teaching Practices
Palm Beach State College has partnered with the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE) to offer faculty the voluntary opportunity to pursue a Certificate in Effective Teaching Practices, the only college teaching credential endorsed by the American Council on Education (ACE). This offering aligns with our mission of providing accessible, student-centered teaching and learning experiences.
The application period for Spring 2025 cohorts is now open.
This ACUE certification is earned through successful completion of asynchronous online courses which prepare faculty in evidence-based teaching practices proven through independently-validated research to improve student achievement. Faculty who complete the program earn a nationally recognized Certificate in Effective Teaching Practice.
This program is delivered fully online and is professionally facilitated. PBSC faculty
participants will be enrolled within a cohort of PBSC colleagues. The program addresses all the
core competencies defined in ACUE’s Effective Practice Framework© and is organized
into four micro courses:
- Creating an Inclusive and Supportive Online Learning Environment
- Promoting Active Online Learning
- Inspiring Inquiry and Preparing Lifelong Learners in Your Online Course
- Designing Student Centered Courses
Cohorts typically complete one module per week, requiring 1-3 hours of activity.
Spring 2025 ACUE Course Schedule:
- Course Start Date: January 21, 2025
- Course End Date: December 6, 2025
No ACUE coursework is due during Spring Break, Summer, Thanksgiving Break, or Winter Break.
