Your pathway to a high-demand, highly paid cybersecurity career
Whether you are just graduating from high school, changing careers, or already working in the computer industry, Palm Beach State delivers what you need to succeed. In Palm Beach State College’s 2+2 cybersecurity pathway, students start with a two-year associate degree and build the foundation to enter PBSC’s two-year Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Information Management with a concentration in Security and Network Assurance.
Those with equivalent credits may also be considered for this bachelor’s degree program.
College Credit Certificate programs in network security and other relevant topics
provide a path for those who already have a degree or who need additional workforce
credentials.

AT A GLANCE
To stay ahead of ever-evolving cyber threats, organizations are investing in information security personnel.
- Develop plans to safeguard computer files against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure and to meet emergency data processing needs.
- Monitor current reports of computer viruses to determine when to update virus protection systems.
- Encrypt data transmissions and erect firewalls to conceal confidential information as it is being transmitted and to keep out tainted digital transfers.
- Perform risk assessments and execute tests of data processing system to ensure functioning of data processing activities and security measures.
- Modify computer security files to incorporate new software, correct errors, or change individual access status.

Articulates from existing Associates in Science/Associates in Applied Science degrees in the computer science field. The core curriculum includes coursework in project management, systems design and programming, business law, finance and business writing.
This program is offered at the Lake Worth campus.

Cybersecurity Lab
Palm Beach State College’s Cybersecurity Lab allows students to engage in real-world simulations to strengthen their cyber defense skills.
The vision for the Cybersecurity Lab is to:
- Enhance and support the training and education of Cyber Security students in both onsite and on line environments.
- Collaborate with public and private entities to ensure the labs relevance.
- Play a vital role in producing workplace ready graduates.
