Traffic Advisory
Sixth Avenue will be closed from Grove Street (just east of the Lake Osborne Church) to Congress Avenue for bridge replacement work. The closure is a necessary safety precaution for crane operators and other construction crews working on enhancements to the road, as well as the public. Please plan to use other routes to the campus. East and west bound traffic will be detoured via S. Congress Avenue, Lake Worth Road (S.R. 802)/Lake Ave/Lucerne Ave and S. Dixie Highway (U.S. 1). Access to Interstate 95 north of 6th Avenue South will be detoured via S. Congress Avenue and 10th Avenue North. Access to Interstate 95 south of 6th Avenue South will be detoured via S. Congress Avenue and Lantana Road. The 6th Avenue South Interstate 95 ramps will remain open, and traffic east of Interstate 95 will remain unaffected.
The exact date for the reopening of 6th Avenue has not yet been determined. The construction project includes raising the bridge by five feet, upgraded traffic signals, sidewalk improvements and installation of bike lanes.
From I-95 North/South:
Proceed west on 6th Avenue South approximately 1 mile to the south entrance. Turn right (north) into campus. Visitor parking is straight ahead.
From the Florida Turnpike:
Take Exit 93, Lake Worth Road and go east approximately 5 miles to Congress Avenue.
Go through the light, and turn right into the campus.
