Step 5: Work Experience
(Chronological
Resume)
On a chronological resume, this is the most important
section as it gives support to your job objective. You need to show the
employer how your experience qualifies you for the position and emphasize the
tasks and/or accomplishments that relate most to the job you are seeking. Include part-time, full-time, summer and temporary employment. You can also include interships, community service, field work, and clinicals, if they relate to your objective. |
The experience section should be in chronological order starting with the most recent position and working back for each additional position including:
- Name of organization
- City, state or country (if outside the U.S.)
- Dates of employment (month and year)
- Bulleted or narative description
