Join award winning journalist Al Tompkins for an engaging,interactive session exploring the changes, challenges and choices of a media revolution that is transforming the foundations of traditional journalism and its ethics. Learn four key questions that will help you “think critically” about the information you  consume online, in the newspaper or over the air from any source.


Al Tompkins is the Senior Faculty for Broadcast and Online at The Poynter Institute in St. Petersburg, Florida which is widely considered to be a global leader for training journalists. Tompkins brings 43 years of experience as a reporter, investigative reporter, photojournalist and News Director. He has been awarded many of journalism’s top honors including the National Emmy,the Peabody, the Robert F Kennedy Award for International Reporting, the Silver Gavel from The American Bar Association and the Governor’s Award from the National Academy for Television Arts and Sciences.

His book, “Aim for the Heart” has been adopted by journalism departments in more than 150 universities around the world.
