Staff & Program Development (S&PD)

Funding is available to all full-time, non-grant-funded faculty and staff for approved activities.

Please refer to the S&PD Guidelines for the criteria and process to apply for S&PD funds for your activity. It is suggested that you submit proposals early. Approval is contingent on the availability of funds.  Travel outside of the continental United States will not be funded.

Academic Affairs & Academic Innovation

S&PD Proposal Steps:

  1. Submit Proposal Form A to Associate Dean (AD)/Program Director (PD) for approval.
  2. AD/PD forwards the approved & signed form to Academic Dean.
  3. Dean forwards the approved & signed form to the VP of Academic Innovation & Strategy via email to Shelly Jirinec
    • Proposals not signed by AD/PD AND Dean will not be accepted.
    • Proposals will only be accepted if sent by Dean.
  4. VPAIAS provides proposals to the S&PD Committee from September through April. Submissions sent from May through August are reviewed only by the VPAIAS.
  5. The Committee reviews and provides recommendations to the VPAIAS. However, VPAIAS holds final authority and may override the Committee's recommendation.
  6. The employee receives approval/denial from the VPAIAS office via email.
  7. Once the approval email is received, the employee must submit a Spend Authorization in Workday within five days of approval to reserve budget funds. Travel arrangements should not be made before approval is received.

S&PD Proposal Deadlines

The S&PD Budget is currently depleted for the 2023-2024 Fiscal Year. We will accept new proposals at the start of the new fiscal year.

The dates below are the submission dates for Staff & Program Development Proposals.

Please note: Early registration due date should be at least two weeks after the date the Committee returns its recommendations. The College only pays early registration fees. Therefore, proposals submitted with less than a two-week lead time may result in higher personal expenses that will not be reimbursed.

Approval emails will be sent within three business days after the Committee has made its recommendation.

S&PD Committee Members

This committee reviews all requests for S&PD funds makes recommendations for approval of  funding. The committee may consist of academic administrators, faculty and academic staff. All committee meetings are done by email.
